Mankameshwar temple brings in new rules for prasad offering

Lucknow: Prasad bought from the market has been banned in the Mankameshwar Temple in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. After the Tirupati Laddu controversy, Mahant Devyagiri has refused to offer Prasad brought from outside in the temple. Mahant Devyagiri has issued a letter saying that devotees should give only Prasad or dry fruits made from their homes to the priest for offering in the sanctum sanctorum. This system has been implemented here from Monday morning. Since the Tirupati controversy, the faith of the devotees has been hurt a lot, so for vigilance in the temple here, no material from outside is allowed to be offered in the temple.

After Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh, its effect is now being seen in other temples of the country as well. In such a situation, everyone has been informed by issuing a notice for Prasad in Mankameshwar Temple in Lucknow. It is clearly written in the notice that only the prasad that is prepared by oneself should be offered in the sanctum sanctorum of Mankameshwar temple, otherwise no outside item should be offered to God as prasad.

Also, devotees have been appealed to offer only dry fruits as prasad in the sanctum sanctorum, as there is less scope for any kind of adulteration in it.

It is clearly written in the notice issued in Mankameshwar Temple that this instruction issued regarding prasad has been banned due to the incident of Tirupati Balaji Andhra. This notice has been issued by the Peethadheeshwar Mahant Devyagiri of the temple. Maha Shanti Homa was performed for the purification of Tirupati temple, Devasthanam’s ritual for atonement. There is a lot of confusion and fear about offering prasad in temples across the country. People are avoiding taking prasad bought from outside to the temple. In such a situation, businessmen say that after such a ban in temples, the business of Prasad can be badly affected. How will they survive if people will not buy the Prasad made by them? This can increase the problems of people living in the Prasad business.
