Mankameshwar Ghat Illuminated with 2.51 Lakh Diyas on Dev Deepawali

Lucknow: The holy festival of Dev Deepawali was celebrated with divine fervour and spiritual grandeur at the Mankameshwar Math Temple’s Gomti Aarti Udyan Ghat in Lucknow. The entire ghat shimmered with the glow of more than 2.51 lakh earthen lamps, as chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Shri Ram” filled the air.

The lamps were artistically arranged in intricate patterns, forming mesmerizing deep rangolis and divine symbols. Under the guidance of Mahant Devyagiri, the traditional aarti of Maa Adi Ganga Gomti was performed with full Vedic rituals. On this sacred occasion, Mahant Devyagiri conveyed a heartfelt message of unity, dedication, and truthfulness to the people of Lucknow.

Adding to the spiritual atmosphere were a series of cultural and devotional performances. The venue featured tableaux of Lord Ram as enshrined in Ayodhya Shri Dham Ram Mandir, along with depictions of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. A young performer portraying Lord Shiva through a spellbinding Tandava dance drew loud applause from the audience.

The evening also witnessed a spectacular fireworks display, which lit up the night sky, further enhancing the festive mood. The grand Ganga Aarti was performed from 11 altars, accompanied by sacred chants, conch sounds, and the rhythmic ringing of bells, creating an atmosphere of devotion and divinity.

Post the aarti, colourful cultural performances featuring dance, bhajans, and glimpses of folk traditions captivated the crowd.

Prominent members of the organizing committee — including Jagdish Gupta Agrahari, Satya Prakash Gulhare, Deep Prakash, Shekhar Kumar, Rajeev Srivastava, Ajay Tiwari, Prem Tiwari, Amit Srivastava, Upma Pandey, and Malini Chaturvedi — along with a large number of devotees, actively participated in the celebrations.

Commendable arrangements for cleanliness, security, and volunteer services were made at the ghat, earning praise for the dedicated efforts of the volunteers and organizing team.

The celebration at Mankameshwar Ghat stood as a luminous reminder of Lucknow’s enduring devotion and cultural harmony, as faith and festivity blended seamlessly on the sacred banks of the Gomti.
