Manchester: Manchester United’s resurgence in the Premier League gathered further momentum under the guidance of Michael Carrick, as the Red Devils registered their fourth consecutive league victory with a convincing 2–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The victory maintained Carrick’s perfect winning record as head coach and underlined a remarkable turnaround for a side that appeared to be struggling just a few weeks ago. United’s latest triumph has significantly boosted their hopes of returning to the UEFA Champions League after missing out for the past two seasons. With 44 points from 25 matches, Manchester United now occupy fourth place in the league standings.
At the top of the table, Arsenal extended their lead to nine points after defeating Sunderland 3–0. Substitute Viktor Gyökeres starred with two goals, taking Arsenal to 56 points from 25 matches and strengthening their grip on the title race.
Second-placed Manchester City, who have 47 points from 24 games, are set to face Liverpool on Sunday in a key fixture, while third-placed Aston Villa, also on 47 points from 25 matches, were held to a 1–1 draw by Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 3–1 victory over bottom-placed Wolves, thanks to a hat-trick from Cole Palmer.
With momentum firmly on their side, Manchester United’s disciplined performance against Tottenham highlighted Carrick’s growing influence and tactical strength, as the club looks increasingly well-placed to secure a top-four finish this season.
