Lucknow: Police in Lucknow have arrested a man from Ambedkar Nagar in connection with an alleged case of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage in the Lucknow district.
According to officials from Chinhat police station, the accused had been named in an FIR lodged on January 22, 2026, following a complaint by the victim. The complainant alleged that the accused established physical relations with her after promising marriage and later subjected her to verbal abuse.
The case was registered at Chinhat police station, and an investigation was initiated. Acting on specific inputs, a police team traced and apprehended the accused from Ambedkar Nagar district.
Police said necessary legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused. Authorities are also verifying his criminal background and examining other evidence related to the case.
