Lucknow: Under the leadership of Dr. Rashmi Singh IAS, wife of Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Chairperson of Aakanksha Committee, a skill upgradation program is being organized for women working in snack food outlets. This program is being organized by Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India at Aakanksha Campus.
Under this program, 20 women of the committee will be provided training in Assistant Fruit and Vegetable Processing and Preservation. Launching this new initiative, the Secretary of the Committee, Priyanka Priyadarshi said that this training will develop the working capacity of women and they will become more capable and strong professionally.
It is noteworthy that on July 16, 2024, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Rashmi Singh, the newly appointed Chairperson of Aakanksha Committee. In the meeting, she discussed future plans and prepared the outline of the upcoming plans. She expressed her desire to publicize the works of Aakanksha Committee to every district of the state and appealed to the people of the civil community to make positive contributions. She emphasized on including women as well as youth in programs providing social security.
The current chairperson of Aakanksha Committee, Dr. Rashmi Singh is an IAS officer and is currently the Chief Resident Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir. She has also been awarded by the President for her outstanding contribution in the field of women empowerment.
Institute Director Anil Kumar Srivastava said that this 180-hour training program will be conducted with the technical support of the State Fruit Preservation and Training Center, so that women can get high quality training. After the training, they will also be provided with an online training completion certificate from the Government of India, which will be helpful in their livelihood enhancement.
On this occasion, the Joint Secretary of the Committee, Dr. Preeti Chaudhary and Usha Singh respectively, presented their suggestions regarding training and encouraged the women. The program was conducted by the Institute’s Program Officer Panna Lal and Coordination Assistant Program Neetu Singh and Accountant Chandan Singh.
This programme, organised under the guidance of Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, is an important step towards empowerment of women, which will give new dimensions to their professional and social life.
