Sultanpur, UP – In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, police in Sultanpur’s Baldirai police station area have arrested two smugglers and recovered smack worth approximately ₹30 lakh from their possession.
Acting under the special anti-narcotics drive directed by Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh, Baldirai police received a tip-off about the presence of two individuals near the Haidhna Khurd canal suspected of carrying narcotic substances. Prompt action by the police team led to the successful capture of both suspects on the spot.
The arrested accused have been identified as Shatrughan Singh, son of Sher Bahadur Singh, a resident of Haidhna Khurd, and Mukesh Dubey, son of Jhabbhar Dubey, a resident of Upar Para, Majra Bihi Nidura.

Police recovered 276 grams of smack, estimated to be worth ₹30 lakh in the international market. According to Station House Officer (SHO) Narad Muni Singh, the duo had been involved in narcotics trafficking for quite some time.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (8/21), and both accused have been sent to judicial custody. The SHO emphasized that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated under any circumstances in the area. He assured that strict action will continue to be taken against those involved in such crimes.

The operation has sent shockwaves among local drug peddlers, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to curbing narcotics in Sultanpur.
