Major Reshuffle in Lucknow Police: Four ACPs Get New Roles, Traffic and Security Management to be Strengthened

Lucknow : In a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at improving law and order as well as traffic management in Lucknow, the Police Commissionerate has reassigned the responsibilities of four Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs). According to the official order, Navratan Gautam and Satish Kumar Rai have been entrusted with the crucial responsibility of overseeing the city’s traffic division, while Vikas Kumar Pandey has been appointed as ACP Mohanlalganj, and Rajneesh Verma has been given charge of the Krishna Nagar zone.

The reshuffle comes as part of a broader effort to enhance operational efficiency and meet the growing administrative and infrastructural demands of the expanding city.

Traffic Management Gets Experienced Hands
Traffic management has been one of the most challenging aspects of city policing in Lucknow, especially during festivals, VIP movements, and rush-hour congestion. With Navratan Gautam and Satish Kumar Rai—both seasoned officers—now handling the traffic portfolio, the administration expects marked improvements in traffic discipline and enforcement.

The city’s rapidly developing zones like Charbagh, Alambagh, Hazratganj, and Gomti Nagar have witnessed increasing vehicular pressure, prompting the police to implement technology-driven systems and stricter monitoring measures. The dual appointment in the traffic department highlights the administration’s intent to prioritize smoother and safer urban mobility.

Focus on Rural Security: Mohanlalganj Gets New Leadership
Mohanlalganj, which comprises a large rural stretch of the capital, has been witnessing fast-paced development and population growth. Land disputes and rising local crimes have added to law enforcement challenges. The appointment of Vikas Kumar Pandey as ACP Mohanlalganj is seen as a step toward strengthening rural policing and maintaining order in expanding suburban areas.

Crime Control in Krishna Nagar a Key Priority
Krishna Nagar, one of the city’s most dynamic and populated zones, houses bus and metro stations, markets, and major residential colonies. The appointment of Rajneesh Verma as ACP Krishna Nagar signals the administration’s focus on improving crime prevention in this critical area. With growing commercial activity and increased crowd density, maintaining law and order here remains a top priority for the police.

The latest reshuffle reflects the Police Commissionerate’s strategy to balance experience with emerging needs, ensuring that both urban and rural parts of Lucknow remain safe, efficient, and well-governed.
