Lucknow: In a significant boost to India’s motorsport ambitions, a landmark partnership has been formalised to kickstart premier international motorcycle racing events at the Buddh International Circuit in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Greater Noida. The initiative aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a global centre for high-profile sporting events.
Premium automotive and motorsport consultancy AVW Global, founded by former MotoGP rider Karel Abraham, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh Government’s State Transformation Commission to develop a world-class motorcycle racing ecosystem in the state.
Bringing MotoGP and ARRC to Uttar Pradesh
Under this strategic collaboration, AVW Global and the state government will facilitate the hosting of prestigious international championships such as MotoGP and the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). The partnership seeks to transform Uttar Pradesh into a global racing hub while revitalising professional motorcycle racing in India.
AVW Global offers end-to-end advisory services, including research, motorsport event execution, and strategic planning. Abraham, who previously competed in MotoGP and owned the Brno Circuit in the Czech Republic, brings extensive experience in circuit operations and long-term event development. His involvement is expected to ensure a structured and world-class approach to motorsport operations in Uttar Pradesh.
Government’s Vision for High-Octane Racing
Manoj Kumar Singh, CEO of the State Transformation Commission, said the collaboration would enable Uttar Pradesh to reintroduce professional motorcycle racing in the country.
“With the support of AVW Global, Uttar Pradesh will be able to bring professional motorcycle racing back to India. Fans across the state and the country are eager to witness high-performance machines on the track. The state is committed to developing motorsport and creating opportunities for youth in this sector. High-octane racing will begin very soon,” he stated.
He further emphasised that the government is determined to fully utilise the potential of the Buddh International Circuit and build a sustainable ecosystem around it, leveraging its world-class infrastructure.
Global Enthusiasm for Indian Market
Ron Hogg, Promotion Director for Two Wheels Motor Racing, expressed excitement about entering the Indian market. “We are delighted that AVW Global represents us in India. It is a crucial market with passionate fans, and we are excited to begin racing here around July–August 2026,” he said.
Karel Abraham added, “Having raced in MotoGP and managed a world-class circuit, I understand what it takes to build a successful motorsport ecosystem. Buddh International Circuit at the Core
The initiative will revolve around the Buddh International Circuit, widely regarded as one of the most technically advanced racing facilities globally. Plans are underway to further develop it as a premier venue for international sporting events. With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and strategic connectivity, the circuit is expected to help Uttar Pradesh emerge as the “Motorsport Capital” of India, attracting global athletes, teams, investors, and enthusiasts.

Hosting MotoGP and ARRC events is expected to generate substantial economic benefits, including increased tourism, infrastructure investment, employment opportunities, and growth in the motorsport industry. It will also enhance India’s stature on the global racing calendar.
