Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh witnessed a major administrative reshuffle as 20 IPS officers were transferred across the state. The transfers involve senior officials at the ADG, IG, and DIG levels, with many receiving new responsibilities in key departments.
Dr. Sanjeev Gupta has been appointed as ADG, Lucknow, while Kiran S has taken over as IG, Lucknow Range. Several other officers have been assigned new roles in crucial units such as the Police Commissionerate, Railways, CID, Training, Technical Services, UP-112, and Special Branch.

The list released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters includes officers from batches 1995 to 2012. Notably, the ADG of the Prayagraj zone has been removed, and Amit Verma, JCP of Lucknow Commissionerate, has also been relieved of his duties. Jyoti Narayan, long stationed in PTS Jalaun, has been appointed ADG, Prayagraj Zone, while Vijay Dhul becomes Additional CP, Prayagraj.
Ram Kumar has been transferred from ADG, Human Rights, Lucknow to ADG, Logistics, Lucknow, with Rajkumar moving in the opposite direction. Dr. Sanjeev Gupta now assumes charge as ADG, Police Headquarters, Lucknow, from ADG, Prayagraj Zone. Sudhir Kumar has been reassigned from ADG (Administration & Headquarters) to ADG (Administration), Lucknow. Ratna Gupta has taken over as ADG, Security, Lucknow, and Anurag Kumar has been appointed ADG, UP Police Recruitment & Promotion Board, Lucknow.

Significant changes have also taken place in railway and special units. R.K. Bhardwaj is now IG, Railways, Lucknow, while N. Kolanchi takes charge as IG, Railways, Prayagraj. Ashutosh Kumar has been appointed ADG, Police Recruitment Board, a critical post considering upcoming recruitment drives, and Tarun Gaba assumes charge as ADG, Security, Uttar Pradesh.
These transfers mark one of the largest administrative reshuffles in recent times, reflecting the state government’s focus on strengthening law enforcement leadership across key zones and units.
