Major Crime Crackdown in Jhansi: 3 Notorious Thieves, 12 Gamblers Arrested; 21 kg Illegal Ganja Seized

Jhansi: Under the strict supervision of SSP BBGTS, Jhansi police carried out a sweeping crime prevention operation across multiple police stations, resulting in the arrest of three notorious thieves, 12 gamblers, and two drug traffickers. The operation was part of an intensified crackdown on criminal activities in the region.

Garotha Police Nab Serial Thieves
In Garotha, police successfully arrested three hardened criminals in possession of stolen items and illegal arms. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended the accused—Ranu alias Deen Mohammad (son of Basheer Khan), Rashid (son of Haider Khan), and Rehman (son of Shamsher Khan)—from near the Thakur Baba temple in Bhadrwara Khurd village.
The police recovered five stolen solar panels, an illegal firearm, and two live cartridges from the trio. All three are residents of the Garotha area and are being booked under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act.

Uldan Police Crack Down on Gambling Den
Meanwhile, the Uldan police raided a gambling spot in village Nota, arresting 12 individuals who were caught red-handed gambling on a platform outside Ajay Rai’s residence.
The arrested individuals include:

  • Manvendra Sahu, Ajoy Rai, Pankaj Patel, Pyarelal Barar, Raju Patel, Tej Singh Patel, Tej Singh Kori, Sunil Barar, Lavkush Patel, Karan Singh Patel, Gajendra Patel, and Rahul Rai.
    Police seized ₹29,690 in cash and 104 playing cards from the scene. All gamblers have been booked under the Gambling Act and further legal action is underway.

Babina Police Seize 21 kg Illegal Cannabis
In another major success, Babina police seized 21 kilograms of illegal cannabis during a routine highway check near the Babina Toll Plaza on Jhansi-Lalitpur Road. The contraband was recovered from a forest path leading to Mankuan.
Two suspects—Laxminarayan and Bhav Singh, both residents of Madhya Pradesh—were arrested with the consignment. The estimated market value of the seized cannabis is around ₹4.2 lakh. They have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

SSP Praises Coordination and Prompt Action
SSP BBGTS commended the police teams involved in the operations for their quick and efficient response. He reiterated the commitment of Jhansi police to continue strong action against anti-social elements to ensure the safety and security of the public.
