Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh at the Start of New Year: 21 IAS Officers Transferred

Lucknow |  The Uttar Pradesh government has ushered in the New Year with a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring and reassigning 21 IAS officers late Thursday night. The reshuffle includes promotions from Secretary to Principal Secretary, Special Secretary to Secretary, and fresh postings across key departments such as Revenue, Finance, Medical Education, Urban Development, Public Works, and Social Welfare.

According to the official order, Aparna U, who was serving as Secretary, Medical Education and Director General, Medical Education, has been promoted to Principal Secretary, Revenue. Similarly, SVS Rangarao, earlier posted as Member (Judicial), Revenue Council and Director, Land Acquisition, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Coordination, National Integration and General Administration.

Among other notable changes, Akhand Pratap Singh has been elevated from Special Secretary, Election, to Secretary in the same department. Neha Sharma, who was holding additional charge, has been made Inspector General, Registration, while Monika Rani has been confirmed as Director General, School Education. Yogesh Kumar has been appointed Commissioner and Registrar, Cooperative Societies.

Key Departmental Appointments

Dr Sarika Mohan has been transferred from the Finance Department to take charge as Secretary, Medical Education Department and Director General, Medical Education. Naveen Kumar G.S., who was Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources and Chief Executive Officer of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), has been appointed as Member (Judicial), Revenue Council and Director, Land Acquisition.

Bhavani Singh Khangarot has moved from Special Secretary, Revenue Council, to Secretary, Finance. Arun Prakash has been transferred from Special Secretary, Urban Development, to Special Secretary, Revenue Department. Ravindra Kumar First, earlier Special Secretary in Agriculture-related departments, has been appointed Secretary, Urban Development, along with additional responsibilities as State Mission Director, AMRUT, and Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban).

Divya Prakash Giri Appointed PWD Secretary

In another key move, Divya Prakash Giri has been appointed Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD), replacing his earlier role as Special Secretary, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply. Krishna Kumar has been made Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources, along with the charge of CEO, PMKSY and Project Administrator, Greater Sharda Sahayak Command Area Development Authority.

Sudha Verma has been appointed Secretary, Revenue Department, while Renu Tiwari has been moved from Secretary, UP Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Commission, to Special Secretary, Women Welfare and Secretary, State Women Commission. Rajendra Singh, Second Special Secretary, Social Welfare, has been given additional charge as Secretary, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Commission.

Changes in Welfare and Home Departments

Sanjeev Singh has been transferred from Special Secretary, Finance, to Director, Social Welfare and Managing Director, UP SIDCO. Dr Vandana Verma, earlier Director, Backward Class Welfare and Managing Director, Backward Class Finance Development Corporation, has been appointed Director, Women Welfare and Managing Director, Women Welfare Corporation. Umesh Pratap Singh has been given additional charge as Director, Backward Class Welfare and Managing Director, Backward Class Finance Development Corporation.

Kumar Prashant, who was Director, Social Welfare and Managing Director, UP SIDCO, has been appointed Secretary, Home Department. Sandeep Kaur has been transferred from Director, Women Welfare and Managing Director, Women Welfare Corporation, to Secretary, Finance Department.

Officials said the reshuffle aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure better implementation of government schemes across departments as Uttar Pradesh enters the new year.
