Admission has been completed on all the 50 seats of the first recognition received in the first counseling of NEET State Quota
Gorakhpur: The medical college (Shri Gorakhnath Medical College Hospital and Research Center) of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University Arogyadham, the first private sector university in Gorakhpur, has now got recognition for 100 seats for MBBS course from the National Medical Commission.
Earlier, the National Medical Commission (NMC) had given recognition for 50 seats and admission has been done on all these seats in NEET State Quota Counseling till now. On the appeal of Shri Gorakhnath Medical College Hospital and Research Center, after investigation, NMC has now increased the recognition of MBBS to 100 seats. Giving this information, Principal of Shri Gorakhnath Medical College Hospital and Research Center, Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kushwaha said that soon the admission process for the increased 50 seats will also start from NEET counseling.
In the examination of the appeal made by Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, NMC found that a 450-bed hospital is functional as against the 420-bed hospital required for 100 MBBS seats. Also, all other necessary infrastructure, faculty are also as per the standard. In view of this, the appeal was disposed of on 30 September with the order that Shri Gorakhnath Medical College Hospital and Research Center is recognized for 100 MBBS seats for the session 2024-25.
Mahayogi Gorakhnath University has achieved this great achievement in conducting MBBS course in just three years of establishment of the university. Along with all the employment oriented courses of nursing, paramedical, pharmacy, BAMS course is being conducted here under Guru Shri Gorakhnath Institute of Medical Sciences since 2021.
On the increase in MBBS recognition to 100 seats, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Major General Dr. Atul Vajpayee, while congratulating the University family and the people of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, said that under the guidance of the Chancellor of the University, Yogi Adityanath, this is a big gift for the youth of entire Purvanchal.
The Vice Chancellor said that in the coming time, the hospital of this medical college will be upgraded to 1800 beds with state-of-the-art facilities. This medical college established by Maharana Pratap Education Council in Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath University is also the dream project of Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath. According to the Principal of Shri Gorakshanath Medical College Hospital and Research Center, Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kushwaha, the admission process for 50 MBBS seats in this medical college has been completed in the first year.
Now admission will be taken on 50 seats of increased recognition. With the increase in MBBS recognition to 100 seats, not only will the talented students of Purvanchal get quality medical education near their homes, but people from Gorakhpur-Basti-Azamgarh division to western Bihar and the Terai region of Nepal will also get a 24-hour hospital equipped with ultra-modern superspeciality facilities. On this achievement of the university, the head priest of Gorakhnath temple Yogi Kamalnath, President of Maharana Pratap Education Council Prof. UP Singh and all the members, former Drug Controller General of India Dr. GN Singh etc. have expressed happiness.
