Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh): The 199th birth anniversary of renowned social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University on Saturday.
The समारोह was held under the supervision of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh, who led the tributes to the great thinker and visionary. The programme began with floral tributes and garlanding of Phule’s statue located within the university premises. Prof. Singh, along with Registrar Harish Chandra and other dignitaries, paid homage by offering pushpanjali at the statue and portrait of Mahatma Phule.
The event was organized under the aegis of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Research Chair and conducted under the guidance of its coordinator, Dr. Suresh Kumar.
