Prayagraj — The 23rd day of Mahakumbh 2025 witnessed unwavering enthusiasm among millions of devotees flocking to Prayagraj. Pilgrims from across India and around the world continue to arrive daily, drawn by faith and the sacred call of the Triveni Sangam, where they seek spiritual merit through ritual bathing. So far, over 370 million devotees have taken the holy dip since the festival began.
Bhutan King Participates in Holy Dip with CM Yogi
Adding to the grandeur of Mahakumbh, Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck arrived in Prayagraj on Tuesday, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The two dignitaries landed at Bamrauli Airport in the morning and proceeded via road to the Mahakumbh grounds. They embarked on a boat from Arail Ghat to the Triveni Sangam, where they performed the sacred ritual bath.
In a heartwarming gesture symbolizing peace and harmony, King Wangchuck and CM Yogi fed grains to birds before capturing memorable photographs together. Following their ceremonial bath and prayers, they visited the revered Akshayavat and Hanuman temples. The royal itinerary concluded with a private lunch at the Triveni Sankul in Arail at 2:30 PM, after which the Bhutanese monarch departed.
PM Modi to Visit Mahakumbh on February 5
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Prayagraj on February 5 to participate in the Mahakumbh festivities. He will perform a ritual Ganga bath and prayers before returning. Initially planned as a five-hour event, PM Modi’s itinerary has been revised. A rehearsal for his visit was conducted on Monday to finalize arrangements.
The Prime Minister will arrive at Bamrauli Airport around 10 AM and proceed to the DPS Helipad. From there, he will board a cruise to the VIP jetty at Nishadraj Sangam, where he will stay for approximately an hour to perform rituals. Post the Sangam rituals, he will head to Arail via cruise and then return to the airport. Notably, the revised schedule omits his previously planned visits to Sector 6’s state pavilion and the Netra Kumbh camp. CM Yogi will also be present to welcome the Prime Minister.
Record-Breaking Attendance at Mahakumbh 2025
Mahakumbh 2025 has already set astounding records, with 370 million devotees participating in ritual baths to date. By 10 AM on Tuesday alone, 4.2 million pilgrims had taken the holy dip. On Basant Panchami, observed on Monday, a staggering 23.3 million devotees performed the sacred ritual.
