Maha Kumbh to Focus on Spirituality, Justice, Transparency, and Awareness

Prayagraj: The ongoing Maha Kumbh will not only serve as a center for spirituality and faith but also convey a strong message of justice, transparency, and awareness about rights. In the Kumbh city, special setups are being created, including the Judges’ Colony, Lokayukta and Information Commission cottages, as well as provisions for the Bar Council.

For 45 days, judges, Lokayukta, information commissioners, and lawyers will interact directly with the public, educating them on every aspect related to justice and the right to information.

150+ Cottages Under Construction in Sector-23

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself visited the site of the Judges’ Colony in Sector-23 of the Kumbh city for an on-site inspection. Over 150 cottages are being constructed at two locations in Sector-23 and near Kila Ghat. On the Chief Minister’s specific instructions, all responsible agencies in the Maha Kumbh Nagar are working at war footing to ensure that all preparations are completed on time.

A Mega Awareness Kumbh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the need for the Kumbh Nagar to be not just a spiritual gathering but also an opportunity for the public to learn about their rights and how to access justice through digital tools. He instructed officials to ensure that the experience for devotees is not only spiritually fulfilling but also a lesson in justice and rights.

Lecture on ‘One Nation, One Election’ on January 18

On January 18, a lecture on ‘One Nation, One Election’ will be held, encouraging a deep dive into constitutional matters and governance during the Maha Kumbh. The Chief Minister wants the Kumbh to be a platform for the public to become more aware of their rights and the tools available to exercise them.

Free Legal Aid Centers and RTI Camps

To further this awareness, free legal aid centers and Right to Information (RTI) camps are being established for the devotees. The High Court Bar Association has already set up a camp near the Lost & Found Center in Sector-4, where lawyers will provide legal assistance and raise awareness among the public.

Crackdown on Corruption

Virendra Singh Vats, the State Information Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, emphasized that Maha Kumbh will serve as an excellent opportunity for the public to learn how to utilize the Right to Information. The Information Commission aims to raise awareness about citizens’ rights and strengthen actions against corruption.

This year’s Maha Kumbh will be an unforgettable blend of spirituality and social awareness, bringing together the masses in the true sense of community and justice.
