Mafatlal CEO M. B. Raghunath Drives Creation of 1,000 Entrepreneurs and 20,000 Jobs in India’s Uniform Sector
New Delhi : M. B. Raghunath, CEO of Mafatlal Industries, has been conferred with the prestigious and first-ever “Uniform Revolutionary Person of India” Award in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the growth and transformation of the uniform garment sector in India. The award was presented by former Textile Minister and MLA Shri Subhash Deshmukh at a special ceremony held at the Goregaon Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
Under Raghunath’s visionary leadership, the Solapur Uniform Garment Exhibition was conceptualised and successfully established, emerging as a national platform for entrepreneurs, manufacturers and industry stakeholders. Over the last nine years, this initiative has played a pivotal role in strengthening the ecosystem of the uniform garment industry informed Satish Pawar , President of the Solapur Garment Manufacturers Association (SGMA).
Through his strategic guidance and industry building initiatives, more than 1,000 entrepreneurs have been created across India, and approximately 20,000 employment opportunities have been generated within the uniform garment sector.
His efforts have significantly enhanced the business capabilities, customer outreach and growth potential of garment manufacturers nationwide.

With over two decades of dedicated experience in the uniform industry, Mr. Raghunath has consistently driven innovation and expansion in the sector. His contributions include promoting new trends and designs, and extending the market beyond traditional school uniforms to include corporate organisations, hospitals, banks and various service industries.
Speaking at the event, dignitaries highlighted that uniforms represent unity, discipline and identity and Mr. Raghunath has been instrumental in shaping this vision on a national scale.
The event was organised with the support and efforts of the Solapur Garment Manufacturers Association team, including Ajay Rangrej, Nilesh Shah, Vijay Dakliya, Ketul Shah, Satish Pawar, Shrikant Ambure, Prakash Pawar and Sunil Mengji.
