Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day Celebrated with Grandeur at AKTU, Lucknow

Lucknow: The Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, celebrated the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy on Saturday. The event, organized under the guidance of Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor Smt. Anandiben Patel and the direction of Vice Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, showcased the glorious history, valor, and cultural richness of Madhya Pradesh through music, drama, and art.

The celebration began with the screening of a short film on Madhya Pradesh, tracing the state’s journey from its origin to its remarkable development in cultural, historical, and social spheres. The film opened with a moving poem and concluded with a melodious Bagheli folk song, leaving the audience spellbound.

Dramatic Performances Depicting the Bravery of Madhya Pradesh’s Icons
Students performed an impactful play based on the life of Rani Durgavati of Gondwana, portraying her fierce resistance against the Mughals and her ultimate sacrifice for her land and pride. Another team of students enacted the final battle of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi in Gwalior, capturing the queen’s indomitable spirit in the fight against British forces. In another performance, students presented a soulful devotional song centered on Lord Rama’s stay in Chitrakoot, highlighting the spiritual essence of the region.

Art and Creativity Reflecting the Heritage of Madhya Pradesh
The university premises came alive with vibrant rangoli and painting competitions, where students depicted the culture, heritage, temples, and landmarks of Madhya Pradesh through their artwork. Participants from various constituent institutions — Centre for Advanced Studies, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Management, and Faculty of Pharmacy — showcased their artistic talents.

Additionally, students delivered speeches on the social, cultural, and scientific significance of Madhya Pradesh and participated in a quiz competition on the state’s general knowledge. Poetry recitations added a literary charm to the event. Winners of various competitions were felicitated for their outstanding performances.

The programme commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Vice Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Registrar Smt. Reena Singh, Finance Officer Shri Keshav Singh, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. O.P. Singh, and Prof. Anurag Tripathi.

Extending greetings on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey lauded the students for showcasing the true spirit and legacy of Madhya Pradesh. The event was compered by Ms. Shefali Singh and Ms. Arzoo Gupta, while Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.

The celebration was attended by Deputy Registrar Dr. R.K. Singh, Dr. Farheen Bano, Dr. Akash Ved, Dr. Ayush Srivastava, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Sunil Pandey, faculty members, and a large number of enthusiastic students.
