Luxury Cruise with 24 Rooms Set to Arrive in Varanasi on July 28, Promises Five-Star Experience on the Ganges

Varanasi: Varanasi is set to welcome a new chapter in river tourism as a state-of-the-art luxury cruise featuring 24 rooms and five-star amenities is scheduled to arrive on July 28. The cruise, operated by Alaknanda Cruise Line, is currently navigating its way from Murshidabad, West Bengal, and has already entered Bihar’s waterways.

Named Gangotri, the four-deck floating marvel comes equipped with premium facilities including a gymnasium, spa, fine-dining restaurant, and an open-air sundeck. This will be the first time Varanasi sees such luxury accommodation on water, offering a unique blend of heritage sightseeing and world-class comfort.

A New Way to Experience Kashi

With millions of tourists visiting Kashi every year to witness the beauty of the ghats along the sacred Ganges, the luxury cruise promises to enhance the spiritual and cultural experience. Visitors can book stays ranging from three days to a full week, enjoying majestic river views in the lap of luxury.

Sailing Through Heritage and Devotion

According to Vikas Malviya, Manager at Alaknanda Cruise Line, the Gangotri cruise will operate from Ravidas Ghat. The route includes Varanasi to Chunar Fort in Mirzapur, Vindhyachal, and Prayagraj, making it a complete pilgrimage and heritage voyage.

The cruise can accommodate 200 passengers for day tours, and 48 guests for overnight stays, moving at a serene speed of 15 to 20 km/hour.

As Varanasi continues to evolve as a premium spiritual and tourist destination, this cruise adds another feather in the city’s cap—offering visitors a new, indulgent way to explore the timeless beauty of the Ganga and the ghats of Kashi.
