LUCKNOW: A grand ‘Tiranga Run’ was organized in Lucknow today, marking a significant success for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ (Tricolour at Every Home) campaign, a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event was a collaborative effort between the Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Lucknow, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls P.G. The run began from the campus of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls P.G. College, with hundreds of young people, students, and citizens waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans. The route, which went through Puraniya and the Lalit Kala Akademi, Aliganj, concluded back at the college. The enthusiastic display of patriotism by participants filled the city with a sense of national pride and unity. Along the route, residents and shopkeepers waved flags and cheered, creating a vibrant, festive atmosphere.

A special feature of the event was the participation of Dhobiya folk singers and dancers, who performed patriotic songs with the rhythm of the dholak and jhanjh. Their performances energized the runners and captivated spectators, infusing the event with a unique cultural flavour. Chants of ‘Vande Mataram,’ ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai,’ and ‘Jai Hind’ echoed throughout the run.

The ‘Tiranga Run’ culminated in a musical performance by renowned musician Abhishek Srivastava in the college auditorium. His powerful and melodious singing resonated with the audience, who continued to wave their flags and celebrate the spirit of patriotism.

Dr. Devendra Kumar Tripathi, Regional Secretary of the Lalit Kala Akademi, emphasized that the Tiranga is a symbol of our freedom, unity, and pride. He urged every citizen to hoist the flag at their home and strengthen their sense of responsibility towards the nation. He also announced that the Akademi would be organizing various art camps, workshops, and cultural events under the campaign to educate the younger generation about Indian art, culture, and history.

Chief guest Prof. Jayant Khot, Chairman of the U.P. Sangeet Natak Akademi, highlighted that the participation of people from diverse backgrounds underscored India’s strength in its diversity and unity. He noted that such cultural events are an effective way to instill social harmony and patriotism in the new generation.

Prof. Rashmi Bishnoi, Principal of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls P.G. College, stated that the success of the ‘Tiranga Run’ demonstrated that collective effort can achieve great things. She added that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has created a new wave of patriotism and pride in Lucknow.

The event’s main goal was to encourage people to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by uploading their pictures with the national flag on harghartiranga.com between August 2 and August 15, 2025. The event concluded with all participants singing the national anthem, vowing to hoist the Tricolour at their homes on August 15. The run was well-coordinated with excellent support from the police, medical teams, and artists, ensuring a safe and successful event.
