Lucknow – As part of Mission Shakti Phase-5, a series of awareness programs were conducted across various educational institutions in Lucknow, aiming to educate girl students about their safety, rights, and the government services available to them.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Lucknow Police, is focused on empowering women and girls with knowledge on self-defense, cyber security, helpline numbers, and government support mechanisms.
At National PG College and City Montessori School, Aliganj, Sub Inspectors Pragati Singh and Aashi Gupta, along with other female officers, explained key services like the 1090 Women Helpline, Pink Booths, and cyber security protocols. The officers emphasized the importance of staying alert, avoiding online frauds, and utilizing the available services in case of emergencies.
Similarly, at SP Inter College Saidapur, Lal Colony Balaganj, and Aurangabad Primary School, sub-inspectors and constables briefed students on helpline numbers, cybercrime awareness, and safety precautions against fake calls and bank fraud. Special sessions on “Good Touch/Bad Touch” were also conducted to help children recognize harmful behavior.
The programs, organized across several schools including Aroma School Rahimabad, aimed to foster a sense of security, respect, and equality for women in society. The police explained the importance of utilizing helplines like 112 Emergency Service and Women Power Line, highlighting the advanced safety measures such as smart city cameras and field police patrolling deployed by the UP Police.
Mission Shakti, a flagship campaign, continues to focus on creating a safe environment for women by promoting awareness and ensuring their access to various government schemes.
