Lucknow: The city’s oldest women’s organization, Lucknow Women’s Association, celebrated its 98th Foundation Day with enthusiasm and dignity. The programme commenced with a welcome song by Neera Mishra, while Dr. Sarojini Saxena conducted the proceedings.
Association President Pratima Bajpai introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Sangeeta Kotwal, Head of the English Department at Navyug Degree College, praising her efforts in empowering youth through modern techniques. Dr. Rashmi Soni, Dean of Education at Jai Narayan Degree College, was also acknowledged for her counselling work during and after the pandemic.
Assistant Secretary Kamal Gupta highlighted the association’s year-round cultural, literary, and social initiatives. Children from the Balwadi run in the premises by Lucknow Municipal Corporation presented a prayer song and dance.
In the second session, Dr. S.P. Jaiswar of Queen Mary Hospital and Dr. Archana Saxena of Snehdhara वृद्धाश्रम were honoured. Senior members and patrons were also felicitated for their continued contributions.
