Lucknow: Lucknow witnessed tense scenes after a fatal road accident on the Outer Ring Road near SHM College under the Dubagga police station area. Following the accident, in which two buffaloes and a youth, identified as Ramanand alias Golu, lost their lives, angry villagers staged a massive protest by placing the victim’s body on the road and blocking traffic.
According to locals, the accident occurred due to overspeeding vehicles on the Outer Ring Road, which has become increasingly accident-prone. Villagers alleged that despite repeated mishaps, the administration has failed to put adequate safety measures in place.
After the incident, family members of the deceased, along with villagers, sat on the road demanding immediate administrative intervention. Their key demands included the installation of speed breakers, deployment of a permanent police picket, and adequate compensation for the victim’s family.
As the body was kept on the road, traffic came to a complete standstill, resulting in long queues of vehicles on both sides of the Outer Ring Road. The situation caused major inconvenience to commuters and led to heightened tension in the area.

A heavy police force was deployed at the spot to control the situation. Senior police officials reached the site and are trying to pacify the protesters through dialogue. However, the villagers made it clear that the road blockade would not be lifted until the administration arrives at the spot and provides concrete assurances on their demands.
The situation remains tense, and the police are making continuous efforts to restore normalcy and ensure law and order in the area.
