Lucknow University Successfully Concludes Ph.D. Entrance Examination 2025–26

Lucknow: University of Lucknow successfully conducted the second and final day of its Ph.D. Entrance Examination 2025–26 on March 31, 2026, in two shifts. The examination witnessed a strong turnout of candidates across multiple faculties and disciplines, and was held in a well-organized, transparent, and secure environment to ensure fairness.

In the morning shift, examinations were conducted for 13 subjects including Law, Education, Economics, Sociology, Chemistry, Ancient Indian History, Fine Arts, Philosophy, Environmental Science, Geology, Oriental Sanskrit, and French. Law recorded the highest registrations with 642 candidates, out of which 191 were absent. Education saw 335 candidates appear, while Sociology had 307 attendees. Economics recorded 163 candidates, and Fine Arts had a smaller turnout with 26 candidates appearing.

The evening shift covered 9 subjects such as Commerce, Psychology, Botany, Social Work, Physical Education, Public Administration, Computer Science, Defense Studies, and Medieval and Modern History. Commerce had 310 candidates appearing, while Botany and Medieval & Modern History recorded 187 and 190 attendees respectively. Overall, attendance remained satisfactory across disciplines.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. P. Saini inspected examination centres and praised the university administration and faculty for the smooth conduct. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to research excellence and transparency, noting that strict security arrangements, including CCTV surveillance, were implemented at all centres.

The successful completion of the examination further strengthens the university’s academic credibility and promotes a robust research-driven environment.
