Lucknow University Launches Four-Day Renewable Energy Awareness Campaign on Its 105th Foundation Day

Lucknow: Marking the 105th Foundation Day of Lucknow University, the Institute of New and Renewable Energy, under the dynamic leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna, launched a four-day mega awareness campaign aimed at educating school and college students about the growing importance of sustainable energy solutions.

At the inauguration, Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Director of the Institute, highlighted the rapidly transforming global energy landscape. “Energy transition is happening at a remarkable pace. This campaign will help young learners understand how clean and green energy is produced and why it is vital for the planet’s future,” she said.

The initiative is expected to engage nearly 500 students over four days. Participants will tour advanced laboratories, interact with researchers, and explore working models and prototypes related to solar energy, wind power, biofuels, hydrogen energy, and other emerging renewable technologies.

The campaign also features expert lectures, practical demonstrations, and interactive sessions on energy conservation and climate change. The institute believes empowering youth is crucial to building an energy-secure and sustainable nation, and aims to inspire students to pursue careers in clean energy, sustainable development, and climate-oriented innovation.

On the opening day, around 125 students from Classes 11 and 12 took part enthusiastically. Their curiosity was met with hands-on exposure to various renewable energy technologies, strengthening their interest in the field.

Reaffirming its commitment, the Institute of New and Renewable Energy emphasized its dedication to contributing to national and global efforts toward carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
