Lucknow: With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 set to resume on May 17 after a one-week suspension due to India-Pakistan border tensions, the Lucknow Super Giants have returned to the grind, regrouping at their home turf — the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Under the watchful eyes of mentor Zaheer Khan and head coach Justin Langer, the Super Giants resumed full-fledged training sessions, aiming to stay in contention for a place in the IPL 2025 playoffs. The coaching unit, including Lance Klusener, Vijay Dahiya, and Rajat Bhatia, has also rejoined the camp to help the squad fine-tune preparations for their remaining fixtures.
Led by captain Rishabh Pant, Lucknow will resume their campaign with a high-stakes home clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 19.
Currently placed mid-table with 10 points from 11 matches, the Super Giants remain in the playoff hunt, but the road ahead is tough. The team must win all three of their remaining league games and rely on favorable results in other matches to secure a spot in the top four.

A victory against SRH will be crucial — not just to keep playoff hopes alive, but also to inject fresh momentum into the squad before their final fixtures against Gujarat Titans (May 22) in Ahmedabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (May 27) back home.
Training resumed with high intensity as Pant, returning to the nets, showcased a full range of attacking strokes in preparation for the must-win encounter. Meanwhile, pace bowlers Prince Yadav, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Akash Singh were seen operating at full throttle, fine-tuning their rhythm and line-lengths.
