Lucknow Smart City Board Reviews Progress of Key Urban Projects in 26th Meeting

Lucknow: The 26th Board Meeting of Lucknow Smart City Limited was held on Wednesday at its office in Lucknow, where officials reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects across the city. The meeting was chaired by Vijay Vishwas Pant, Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow.

During the session, a detailed presentation was made before Gaurav Kumar, outlining the status and execution of various Smart City initiatives. Emphasis was laid on timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality.

Focus on Parking, Smart Roads and School Upgrades

The Chief Executive Officer of Lucknow Smart City Limited presented updates on key infrastructure works, including multi-level underground parking, the Lighthouse Project, development of smart roads, and renovation of government schools. Financial aspects, including the balance sheet for the financial year 2025–26, were also discussed. Board members reviewed expenditures, implementation pace, and overall project quality, issuing necessary directives.

Review of Completed Projects

The board also assessed projects that have already been completed, such as the Lighthouse Project, 11 smart roads, multi-level parking facilities, solid waste management initiatives, and the renovation of five schools. Observations and changes noted during project finalization were discussed to improve future planning and execution.

Appointment Approved

The board approved the appointment of S. C. Singh as General Manager (Projects), strengthening the administrative framework for ongoing and upcoming works.

Underground Power Lines in Key Areas

A significant discussion was held regarding the undergrounding of electricity lines in the Kaiserbagh–Ghantaghar area. Officials reviewed tendering and progress updates from the implementing agency and directed that the work—covering approximately 50 meters—be completed on priority to enhance safety and urban aesthetics in the historic zone.

Divyang Park and Staff Extension

The board instructed a designated committee to submit a report evaluating the quality and progress of the Divyang Park being developed in CG City. Additionally, approval was granted for the extension of working hours for Smart City staff to ensure continuity and efficiency in project execution.

Emphasis on Timely Execution and Coordination

Concluding the meeting, Vijay Vishwas Pant stressed the importance of completing all projects within stipulated timelines and maintaining quality benchmarks. He also highlighted the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination to transform Lucknow into a modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly smart city.

Senior officials including Additional Municipal Commissioner Lalit Kumar, Finance Controller of Lucknow Development Authority Deepak Singh, and other key officers were present at the meeting.
