Lucknow Police Solve Ola Driver Murder Case; Three Arrested, One Fugitive

Lucknow : The Malihabad police, in coordination with the crime and surveillance team, have successfully solved the murder case of an Ola cab driver in Lucknow. The driver, missing for nearly a month, was allegedly killed by three youths who have now been arrested, while a fourth accused remains at large.

Case Background

The incident came to light on August 21, 2025, when Ramchandra Yadav, a resident of Tikrikuhurd village in Malihabad, reported his 35-year-old son Sarvesh Yadav, an Ola driver, missing. Investigation revealed that on August 20, around 4 PM, Sarvesh had accepted a booking from Hazratganj to Indira Dam for four youths. Three of them boarded his car, while the fourth followed on a motorcycle.

Murder for Quick Money

Police investigations revealed that the accused had planned the murder and robbery for quick financial gain. While traveling from Indira Dam to Chinhat, they shot Sarvesh in the head with a locally made pistol, killing him instantly. After the murder, they stole his mobile phone and cash.

Using mobile phone tracking and CCTV footage, police were able to identify and locate the suspects. Acting on the leads, officers recovered the murder weapon, the victim’s mobile, and the body/skeleton. Sarvesh’s identity was confirmed through his clothing and necklace.

Arrests and Fugitive Status

The police have arrested Saurabh Yadav alias Shera, Vijay Yadav, and Akhil Yadav in connection with the case. The fourth accused, Arvind Singh alias Kalu, remains at large, and search operations are ongoing.

The team, led by Station In-Charge Surendra Singh Bhati, was commended by the Police Deputy Commissioner, North for cracking this blind murder case.
