Lucknow: In a major crackdown on organised crime, the Lucknow Police has seized property earned through criminal activities under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986. A Swift Dzire car worth Rs 3.70 lakh was confiscated from a notorious gangster following the orders of the Police Commissioner.
The joint team of Kakori Police Station and Para Police Station carried out the action after confirming that the vehicle was purchased using money gained from illegal activities.

How the Case Began
The case originated on June 17, 2025, when Para Police registered a case against Ajay Yadav under Sections 2/3 of the UP Gangster Act. During investigation, Kakori Police gathered strong evidence proving the car had been acquired through criminal earnings with no legitimate income source.
Based on this, the Police Commissioner ordered the seizure of the vehicle. The car was already linked to several FIRs registered at Para Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Gangster’s Criminal Background
Ajay Yadav is a high-risk and dangerous criminal with over 16 serious cases registered in Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Barabanki, and Lucknow, including:
* Murder and attempt to murder
* Loot and kidnapping
* Fraud and forgery
* Arms Act and Gangster Act violations
His first case dates back to 2018. He has continuously switched gangs and spread fear among locals, making witnesses afraid to testify.
