Lucknow: In a swift and commendable action, the Uttar Pradesh Police recovered a lost Apple laptop worth around ₹1 lakh within 24 hours and returned it to its rightful owner in Lucknow.
According to police officials from Alambagh Police Station, the incident was reported on March 11, 2026, when Prateek Kumar, a resident of Deoghar in Jharkhand, informed the police at the Alambagh Bus Stand outpost that his laptop had gone missing during his journey.
Prateek Kumar had travelled from Ayodhya to Lucknow and reached the Alambagh Bus Terminal by auto-rickshaw. During the journey, he misplaced his Apple laptop, estimated to be worth around ₹1 lakh.
Acting promptly on the complaint, Station House Officer Ram Babu Singh directed police personnel deployed at the bus stand to begin an immediate search. Under the leadership of outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar, along with Sub-Inspector Durga Prasad Pandey and other police staff, an intensive search operation was carried out at the bus station and nearby areas.

Due to the team’s prompt response and sustained efforts, the missing laptop was successfully recovered from the Alambagh Bus Stand area within 24 hours. The device was safely returned to its owner on March 12, 2026, after completing the necessary formalities.
After receiving his laptop, Prateek Kumar expressed gratitude and appreciation for the quick response and efficiency of the Alambagh police team. Police officials said the recovery highlights their commitment to assisting citizens and ensuring prompt action in such cases.
