Lucknow: Lucknow Police have successfully solved a horse theft case and safely recovered an Iranian-breed horse from the Morawan area of Unnao district, officials said on Sunday. An accused has been arrested in connection with the theft.
According to police, the recovery of the horse has brought relief and joy, particularly among members of the Shia community, as the animal is believed to be associated with religious faith linked to Karbala. Owing to its religious significance, special arrangements are being made to ensure the horse’s safety.
Following information about the theft, the Talkatora police team acted swiftly and launched a targeted operation, leading to the arrest of the accused and the safe recovery of the horse. Police officials confirmed that the animal was found in good health and without any injuries.
Authorities stated that the horse will now be kept under tight security. The premises where it is housed will be equipped with CCTV surveillance, and trained security personnel will be deployed to prevent any future incident.
In recognition of the successful operation, the administration has announced a reward of ₹50,000 for the police team involved in the recovery. Further legal proceedings against the accused are currently underway, police added.
