Lucknow: In a significant step towards strengthening digital safety, the Lucknow Police organised a one-day cyber awareness workshop for police personnel under its “Specialized Training” branch at the seminar hall of the Reserve Police Lines in Lucknow.
The workshop was conducted in line with the vision of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and on the directions of Amrendra Kumar Sengar, Police Commissioner of Lucknow. The programme was held under the guidance of Joint Police Commissioner (Crime & Headquarters) Aparna Kumar and Joint Police Commissioner (Law & Order) Bablu Kumar.
The training was organised under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar Yadav to enhance the efficiency and technical capacity of women personnel posted at Women Help Desks and Pink Booths across police stations. The workshop was monitored by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Women Crime/Cyber Crime) Soumya Pandey.
Around 80 women constables participated in the cyber masterclass, where experts from the Cyber Cell of Lucknow Police provided detailed training on emerging cyber threats such as “digital arrest” scams, APK file frauds, malware attacks and phishing.
Participants were also trained on how to provide immediate assistance to victims by using the national cyber helpline 1930 and registering complaints through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Officials demonstrated the use of technical platforms such as Sanchar Saathi, CEIR portal for tracing lost mobile phones, and the National Payments Corporation of India website for tracking suspicious financial transactions.

A special session focused on protecting women’s digital privacy, where officers were trained to use the stopNCII.org portal to remove non-consensual intimate content circulating on social media.
Officials said the primary objective of the workshop was to familiarise police personnel with the latest trends in cybercrime, strengthen rapid evidence collection techniques, and ensure prompt assistance to victims. Under initiatives like Mission Shakti, the training also aimed to empower women police personnel so they can respond effectively to cyber-related complaints at the grassroots level.
At the end of the session, experts addressed queries from participants. Officials said the training would enable field units—especially women help desks—to provide faster technical support to cybercrime victims, reaffirming Lucknow Police’s commitment to both public safety and digital security.
