Lucknow: With Holika Dahan and the festival of Holi approaching, police in Lucknow have intensified preparations to ensure the celebrations conclude in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. The West Zone police have stepped up coordination efforts and issued detailed guidelines to maintain law and order.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), along with the Additional DCP and Assistant Commissioners, held meetings with Holika Dahan committees and prominent citizens from Para Police Station, Aminabad Police Station and Kaiserbagh Police Station areas. During the बैठक, officials emphasized that Holika Dahan must take place strictly at designated locations and within the approved time frame. No new traditions or unauthorized events will be permitted.
Police directed organizers to ensure adequate fire safety arrangements at all sites and to prevent any disruption to traffic movement. The use of DJs and loudspeakers must comply with government-prescribed norms. Citizens were urged not to pay heed to rumours and to immediately inform authorities of any suspicious activity.
Authorities have assured strict vigilance through enhanced patrolling and CCTV monitoring. The public has been appealed to maintain peace and brotherhood during the festivities and to contact their nearest police station or dial the emergency helpline 112 in case of any emergency.
