Lucknow Police Launches Special Crackdown on Illegal Firecrackers Under “Operation Prahar”

Lucknow: In a major enforcement drive ahead of the festive season, the Nagram Police Station of Lucknow Commissionerate conducted a special operation against the illegal manufacturing, storage, and sale of firecrackers under the ongoing “Operation Prahar” initiative.

The campaign was carried out under the direction of Police Commissioner Amrendra Singh Sengar, with close supervision from Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Nipun Agrawal, Additional DCP (South) Rallapalli Basanth Kumar, and leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mohanlalganj, Rajneesh Verma.

A 70-member police team conducted an intensive search operation across the Nagram area on October 10, 2025.

Key Actions Taken:

  • Extensive checking and house-to-house search in targeted areas
  • 10 houses raided during the operation
  • 3 suspicious individuals detained with lighter pistols recovered from their possession
  • Thorough inspection of shops and locations suspected of illegal firecracker activity

  • To curb the illegal firecracker trade and related criminal activities
  • To prevent fire-related accidents during the festive season
  • To ensure peace, public safety, and strengthen law and order
