Lucknow Police Crack High-Profile Criminal Case: ₹25,000 Rewardee Apprehended

Lucknow: In a significant breakthrough, the Lucknow Police successfully apprehended a wanted criminal involved in serious offenses, including murder, robbery, and dacoity, with a reward of ₹25,000 announced for his capture.

Case Background:
On 29 September 2025, the disappearance of Yogesh Pal, son of Radhelal, resident of Badalkhera, was reported by his father-in-law, Badri Prasad, to the local police (FIR No. 136/25). On 2 October 2025, Yogesh Pal’s body was recovered in Sitapur district, prompting the registration of a murder case (FIR No. 702/25) under relevant sections of the IPC. Given the gravity of the case, the Lucknow Police Commissioner directed a combined operation involving the Para Police, District Crime Team, and Western Zone Crime Team.

Arrest Details:
During a checking operation, the police arrested Vikas Kumar, also known as Yatra Rupnarayan Kanaujia, aged approximately 29, a resident of Gram Barhua, Mallaura, Hardoi district (currently residing in Gram Mirzapur, Janakipuram, Lucknow). Vikas was a key suspect and was among the wanted criminals for whom a ₹25,000 reward had been declared by the Deputy Police Commissioner, Western Lucknow. The remaining main accused, Guru Sevak, is still at large. Legal proceedings against Vikas Kumar are underway.
