Lucknow : In a major breakthrough, the Ghazipur Police Station team, along with the East Zone Crime Branch, has successfully busted a gang involved in multiple incidents of theft and burglary across the city. The kingpin of the gang was injured in a late-night police encounter, while a female gang member responsible for surveillance and planning was also arrested.
During a press briefing, DCP East Shashank Singh, flanked by ACP Ghazipur Anindya Vikram Singh and Inspector Vikas Rai, revealed the details of the high-stakes operation. A total of eight members of the gang have been arrested. They include:

A significant haul of stolen valuables was recovered from their possession, including:

The gang was known for conducting prior surveillance of their targets, aided by a female accomplice, before carrying out break-ins. The ringleader sustained a gunshot injury during retaliatory firing by the police when the gang attempted to flee during a raid.
Police sources confirmed that the arrested criminals were wanted in multiple cases registered at various police stations across the city.
DCP Shashank Singh lauded the swift and coordinated efforts of the teams involved and announced a reward of ₹20,000 for the police personnel who played a key role in the arrests. He also stated that Gangster Act proceedings will be initiated against the arrested individuals to ensure stringent legal action.
The crackdown marks another significant stride by Lucknow Police in curbing organized crime and ensuring public safety in the city.
