Lucknow Police Bust Illegal Arms Factory, One Arrested

LUCKNOW – In a significant crackdown, the Kakori police station in Lucknow has busted an illegal arms factory in the village of Nai Basti. The police raid led to the arrest of Dilip alias Santulal, while his accomplice, Mintu, managed to escape.

During the raid, authorities recovered semi-finished firearms of .315 and 12-bore caliber, along with ammunition, a grinder, a drill machine, and other tools used for manufacturing.

According to police, the accused would manufacture the weapons at night and supply them to nearby rural areas. During his interrogation, the arrested suspect provided the police with several other names involved in the operation. It was also revealed that the arrested suspect is currently embroiled in a dowry harassment dispute with his wife.

The Kakori police reported that acting on a tip, a team raided a dilapidated building near a temple where two men were found making weapons. One escaped while the other was apprehended.

This latest bust indicates a rise in such illegal activities in Lucknow, as another arms factory was seized in the Malihabad area just last month. Police are actively searching for the escaped accomplice and have increased surveillance throughout the area.
