Lucknow: In a swift operation, Lucknow police successfully apprehended a man accused of stealing a mobile phone. The recovery of the stolen phone was also reported.
According to police records, a complaint was filed on 20 March 2025 by Pankaj Sonkar, son of late Ram Krishna Sonkar, at the local Kaiserbagh Police Station under FIR No. 32/2025, Sections 379/2 IPC regarding a mobile phone theft. The accused was actively being tracked by the police.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Kaiserbagh Police Station arrested Shankar Rastogi, son of Ashok Rastogi, aged around 40, a resident of Jail Road, Navi Basti, Sitapur, near Kotwali Nagar. The arrest was made near the Baradari area. During the arrest, the police recovered the stolen mobile phone, a white and blue Redmi 5V, from the possession of the accused.
The accused was informed of the charges and, after due legal procedures, was presented before the court for judicial custody with enhanced charges under Section 317(2) IPC.
