Lucknow Police Arrest Man in Connection with Minor Abduction and Assault Under “Mission Shakti 5.0”

Lucknow: In a significant enforcement under the “Mission Shakti 5.0” initiative aimed at ensuring women’s safety, the Lucknow Police have arrested a man accused of abducting a minor girl and assaulting her. The operation was carried out by the Gomtinagar Vistar Police under the supervision of the Eastern Zone authorities.

Acting on the directions of the Police Commissioner and Joint Police Commissioner of Lucknow to curb crime and apprehend wanted criminals, the Eastern Police Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner supervised the operation led by Inspector Sudhir Kumar Awasthi. The arrest relates to FIR No. 228/2025 registered under sections 87, 137(2), and 115(2) BNS at Gomtinagar Vistar Police Station.

After detailed surveillance and investigation, the local police team apprehended Imran, son of Jabbar, aged 24, resident of Gangotri Bihar, Lal Kothi 15, Gomtinagar Vistar, Lucknow, originally from Sahijna Thari, Mal Police Station area, near 60 Feet Road, Sector 6, Gomtinagar Vistar, on November 30, 2025.

The accused has been taken into custody and will be produced before the competent court following legal procedures. The case was registered based on a written complaint alleging that the accused enticed and abducted the 17-year-old daughter of the complainant and assaulted her.
