Lucknow: In a proactive step towards enhancing bank security and ensuring better coordination with law enforcement, Joint Police Commissioner (Law & Order) Babloo Kumar convened a high-level meeting at his Daliganj office. The meeting brought together Lead District Managers, District Coordinators, Branch Managers, Security Heads, ATM Cell In-charges, and other senior bank officials.
The session focused on reviewing current security arrangements and establishing a stronger framework for prevention, surveillance, and emergency response.
Key issues discussed included:

Mandatory police verification of private bank staff through the UPCOP App or Lucknow Police website.

Compliance with structural safety norms in bank buildings.

Enhanced security and routine inspections for branches in sensitive areas.

Regular police checking and presence of security guards at ATMs.

Coordination meetings with cash distribution agencies.

Appointment of guards in cash vans as per rules, along with timely police verification.

Round-the-clock functional CCTV cameras with periodic quality checks.

Regular inspection and staff training on fire safety equipment.

Timely testing of alarm systems and conducting emergency mock drills.

Immediate reporting of any suspicious person or object to the nearest police station.

Ensuring security of currency chests and guard deployment.
Bank officials also shared their challenges and suggestions, which were positively considered.
Future Plan:
All banks in Lucknow will prepare and implement a comprehensive security action plan. It was also agreed that monthly security review meetings will be held at the police station level to ensure continued coordination.
This joint initiative marks a significant step in safeguarding public assets and enhancing security across banking institutions in the city.
