Lucknow: The smart security system of Lucknow Metro and state-of-the-art CCTV cameras installed in station premises and trains has been instrumental in returning the lost luggage of passengers. Today, white coloured paper bag of a passenger containing ₹48,177 cash and other material (Italian soap pack, roses, bills, boxes and some envelopes) was handed back to him safely by the Metro staff at the Secretariat Metro station.
The sincerity of the staff of Lucknow Metro has always left its mark on the minds of the passengers. In an incident that took place at the Secretariat station today, the vigilant staff of the Lucknow Metro helped a passenger to retrieve his lost bag. Shri Rakesh Chandra Srivastava resident of Rajajipuram Awas Vikas forgot his bag at the station during security check while travelling by metro from Secretariat to CCS Airport.
The passenger expressed his gratitude to the Metro staff for their honesty and promptness by finding his money safe in the bag. It may be noted that the team of Lucknow Metro stands with full commitment to help the passengers in every situation. The Lucknow Metro’s Lost and Found cell has safely returned around Rs 43 lakh cash, 192 laptops and 720 smartphones to passengers since the inception of revenue operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC) said, “Protecting the life and property of the passengers and living up to their expectations is the top priority of our team. Every nook and corner of Lucknow Metro is monitored through CCTV. A strict vigil is being maintained with the help of 50 to 60 CCTV cameras at all the stations of Lucknow Metro and 24 in trains. Similarly, we will continue to strive towards providing world-class facilities to the passengers. “
