Lucknow: Lucknow Metro organized ‘Sewa Mela’ under the ongoing Daan Utsav at Hazratganj Metro station. 17 NGOs set up their stalls at the Metro Station and created awareness among the passengers to participate enthusiastically in this charity festival.
Volunteers from NGOs related to Blood Donation, Education, Deaf Women Welfare and Animal Welfare made Metro passengers aware on these sensitive topics. All NGOs also arranged drop boxes at their stalls where passengers donated stationery, books, clothes, food items, sanitary pads, soap, shoes and other essential items to help the underprivileged.
UPMRC Managing Director Sushil Kumar said, “Lucknow Metro is considered the pride of the city but we took a pledge to make our city the pride of the country. This is only possible when each and every citizen of the city is aware of his society. Today’s program has been organized keeping this in mind. We appeal to the people of Lucknow to participate in this Daan Utsav and help us in providing help to the underprivileged people of the city”.
