Lucknow: The 16th Mini and 18th Junior Uttar Pradesh State Rollball Championship 2025 began in grand fashion at Chowk Stadium’s indoor hall on Saturday, with the host city’s girls’ teams making a dominant start. Playing with grit and precision, Lucknow secured victories in all their matches on the opening day, sending out a strong signal to their competitors.
The championship was inaugurated by MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, who encouraged the players and announced that efforts would be made to provide a dedicated practice ground for the city’s rollball athletes. His assurance was met with loud applause, boosting the morale of the young participants.
According to Manoj Verma, President of the Lucknow Rollball Sports Association, the three-day tournament (August 31–September 2) has attracted teams from 35 districts, making it one of the state’s largest rollball events.
In the mini-category, Lucknow’s girls overpowered GB Nagar with a convincing 5–0 win. Ashriya Singh stole the show with a hat-trick, while Ipshita Singh added two goals. Sumedha also impressed with her all-round performance.

The junior team followed up with another emphatic result, defeating GB Nagar 7–1. Aaradhya led the charge with four goals, supported by Aadya (2) and Kavya (1). These results firmly placed Lucknow among the frontrunners for the championship.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Santosh Srivastava, Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Rollball Association, alongside Neeraj Srivastava, Manish Srivastava, Aditya Bajpai, Sunil Shukla, Prakash Mishra, Ramgopal Singh, Manoj Tiwari, and Anant Tomar.
The Lucknow squads, featuring Aadya Singh, Ananya Yadav, Parnika Verma, Ashriya Singh, Ipshita Singh, Aaradhya, Sumedha, Kavya, Shariya, Shubika, Ayati, Harshita, Richal, Myra, Simarpreet, Shatakshi, Rudrika, Siddhi, Ditya, and Uzra, have made their intent clear—to bring the championship trophy home.
