District Administration Takes Major Action Against Illegal Plotting and Encroachment in Lucknow
Lucknow: In a decisive move to free government land from encroachments, the Lucknow district administration, under the directive of District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar, conducted a significant operation in the Hariharpur village of Sarojini Nagar tehsil. The joint team, comprising officials from the tehsil administration and the municipal corporation, reclaimed government land worth ₹8.47 crore.
Details of the Operation
The operation targeted illegal plotting, temporary boundary walls, and residential structures constructed on government land. Using JCB machines, the team demolished unauthorized constructions, restoring 1.059 hectares of land spread across six plots with the following details:
- Khasra No. 706: 0.250 hectares
- Khasra No. 323: 0.100 hectares
- Khasra No. 377: 0.050 hectares
- Khasra No. 320: 0.190 hectares
- Khasra No. 440: 0.450 hectares
- Khasra No. 322: 0.019 hectares
The land was freed despite resistance from certain property dealers, which was handled peacefully.
Team Involved
The operation was led by Deputy Tehsildar Neeraj Katiyar, with support from Revenue Inspector Avinash Chandra Tiwari and local Lekhpals Dinesh Kumar, Subhash Kaushal, Anoop Gupta, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Sandeep Yadav II. Additionally, police personnel from Sushant Golf City Police Station ensured security during the drive.
Continuing the Anti-Encroachment Campaign
This action is part of an ongoing campaign to remove encroachments from government land. The administration has already reclaimed land worth over ₹100 crore across the district.
Deputy District Magistrate of Sarojini Nagar, Dr. Sachin Verma, reiterated the administration’s commitment to preventing illegal occupation of government land. “Encroachments on government property will not be tolerated. Stern actions will continue to ensure the land is utilized for public welfare,” he stated.
The administration has urged citizens to report illegal activities related to land encroachments and has emphasized its zero-tolerance policy toward such violations.
