Lucknow Book Fair Day 4 Blends Literature with Flavours of Awadhi Cuisine

Lucknow | The ongoing Lucknow Book Fair at Ravindralaya Charbagh has become a vibrant hub for writers, readers and cultural enthusiasts. Alongside literary and cultural programmes, visitors are also enjoying a special Awadhi cuisine festival, adding a unique flavour to the event.

The fourth day of the fair witnessed a series of book discussions, poetry recitations and book releases, while readers spent hours browsing through diverse titles at the stalls. At the Rohit Book stall featuring publications from Vani Prakashan, poetry collections by celebrated poets such as Nida Fazli, Rahat Indori, Dushyant Kumar, Jaun Elia, Gulzar, Bashir Badr, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and Kumar Vishwas drew significant attention from poetry lovers.

Visitors also explored a wide range of books covering diverse subjects such as history, literature, politics, science and artificial intelligence. Popular titles and novels attracted large numbers of readers, while other stalls like Book Globe displayed works including Brand Hemant by Achal Priyadarshi and Indian Women Politicians: Journey from Struggle to Success by Dr. Sitaram India, among several others.

Literary Discussions and Book Launches

The literary stage activities began with a symposium and discussion organised under “Kavya Satat Sahitya Yatra” and Shardeya Prakashan. The session was attended by literary figures including Manorama Lal, Karuna Pandey, Alka Pramod, Manu Rai, Pawan Jain and Neha Agrawal Neh. Poets such as Vipin Malihabadi, Mukesh Mishra, Swarika Kirti, Renu Chhabra, Deepa Srivastava, Ila Sharma, Shweta Srivastava, Nivedita Shri and others presented their literary works.

Later, a discussion was held on Nivedita Shri’s book Dashmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji, where Meenu Khare, Rajwant Raj, Vineeta Mishra and Ratna Kaul shared their views along with other participants.

In the afternoon, Dr. Amresh Mohan’s English book “Physiotherapy of Life” was formally launched at the venue.

Awadhi Cuisine Festival Attracts Visitors

The Awadhi cuisine festival, organised with the support of Lok Aangan and Neelakshi Foundation under the coordination of Jyoti Kiran Ratan, offered visitors traditional delicacies such as fare, noon bari, gulgule and aloo kachalu. Neelam Verma and Meenakshi Sahu introduced visitors to the rich flavours of regional Awadhi dishes.

Evening Poetry Event and Felicitations

The evening session featured a poetry ceremony organised by Sundaram, where distinguished poets including Brijendra Narayan Dwivedi Shailesh from Varanasi and Manish Srivastava Badal from Bhopal were honoured. Other literary personalities such as Dr. V.M. Khare, Dr. Abhinav Gupta, Manju Saxena, Anil Yadav Aniket and Varsha Srivastava were also felicitated.

Poets including Om Neerav, Dr. Yogesh, Kripa Shankar Srivastava, Manmohan Barakoti, Harimohan Bajpai Madhav, Harshvardhan, Mamta Pankaj, Narendra Bhushan, Girish Chandra Awasthi, Ravindranath Tiwari and Nirbhay Narayan Gupta participated in the poetry recitation.

Schedule for March 17

The fair will continue on March 17 with several literary events, including a poetry session at 11:00 am, a discussion and poetry meet by the Awadhi Sahitya Sansthan Amethi at 12:30 pm, a book launch by Arvind Pandey at 2:00 pm, the Awadhi cuisine festival at 5:00 pm, followed by poetry sessions organised by Abhushan Sanstha at 5:30 pm and Bhushundi Sansthan at 7:30 pm.
