Lucknow: In a tragic incident that shocked the Wazirganj area, the police have solved the murder case of a young man, Himanshu Sonkar, which was rooted in a love triangle. The murder had sent waves of shock throughout the locality. However, the Wazirganj police swiftly acted on the case and arrested three individuals, bringing the truth to light.
Planned Murder by the Banks of the Gomti River
The incident occurred on the night of January 21, 2025, when Himanshu Sonkar was lured out of his house under a false pretense. The accused convinced Himanshu to accompany them to the banks of the Gomti River, claiming they needed him to light a lamp near a local Shani temple. Once at the riverbank, a premeditated plan was put into action. Himanshu was pushed into the river, causing his tragic and painful death.
Upon further interrogation, it was revealed that Himanshu’s murder was a result of a dispute over a romantic relationship. The three arrested suspects—Aayush Sonkar (22), Jackie Sonkar (34), and Payal Sonkar (24)—admitted to the crime. They confessed that tensions had been brewing over Himanshu’s involvement with Payal, which led them to hatch the deadly plan.
Quick Police Action and Arrests
The investigation was initiated on January 24, when Himanshu’s father, Pappu Sonkar, filed a complaint at the Wazirganj police station. Understanding the seriousness of the case, the Wazirganj police moved quickly, gathering evidence and arresting the accused. Aayush Sonkar, Jackie Sonkar, and Payal Sonkar have been remanded to judicial custody.
Under the leadership of Station Officer Dinesh Chandra Mishra, the police team made remarkable progress in cracking the case. Officers Satish Chandra Mishra, Munna Lal, Vinod Kumar Singh, Anupa Bharti, and other team members played a commendable role in the investigation and arrest of the culprits.
