Lucknow – The Lala Vishambhar Dayal Agarwal Memorial Cricket Championship Tournament 2025, organized by the Lucknow Trade Board, commenced today. The President of the Lucknow Trade Board, Amarnath Mishra, inaugurated the tournament at 7 PM by taking the first bat.
Manish Gupta, the Youth President of the Lucknow Trade Board and the organizer of the tournament, provided details about the event. He informed that 16 teams from various city unit trade boards affiliated with the Lucknow Trade Board will participate in the matches. Two matches will be played daily, from 8 PM to 10 PM and from 10 PM to 12 AM. The final match is scheduled for May 7, 2025. Today’s opening match will be played between the Bulaki Adda Market team and the Lucknow Iron Trade Board team. The second match will be between the Yahiyaganj Run Machine and the Cantt Yuva Trade Board.
Amarnath Mishra, President of the Lucknow Trade Board, stated that the tournament is being organized in the name of Lala Vishambhar Dayal, the founder of their organization. He mentioned that this is the first time the Lucknow Trade Board is hosting such an event, and traders across the city are very enthusiastic about it. He assured that such events will be organized regularly in the future.
Senior General Secretary Pawan Manocha expressed that the tournament will be played by traders from Lucknow city, which will increase awareness about sports among their children and provide an opportunity for the younger generation to learn.
Treasurer Devendra Gupta mentioned that the Lucknow Trade Board periodically organizes small events such as family gatherings. Previously, the Lucknow Trade Board and the Commercial Tax Department had also played a one-day match. He believes that traders have a lot of talent, but it often remains dormant due to lack of time.

Manish Gupta, President of the Lucknow Youth Trade Board, stated that this event is being organized under the inspiration of President Amarnath Mishra and the demand of young traders. He believes that despite working for 18 hours, traders will come to the field to play, and the players of the Lucknow Trade Board will encourage their young trader colleagues and help them showcase their talent.
Kush Mishra, the Youth President of the Yahiyaganj Trade Board, said that upon learning about the cricket competition being organized by the Lucknow Trade Board, two teams from Yahiyaganj will participate. One team is Yahiyaganj Run Machine, captained by Deepak Gupta, and the other is Yahiyaganj Warriors, captained by Kush Mishra. He added that there is a lot of enthusiasm in Yahiyaganj, and traders from Yahiyaganj have previously showcased their talents in various sports, bringing honor to the area. Their players aim to win this competition and dedicate it to Yahiyaganj.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Chairman Rajendra Kumar Agarwal, Amarnath Mishra, Satish Agarwal, Devendra Gupta, Anurag Mishra, Abhishek Khare, Umesh Sharma, Jitendra Singh Chauhan, Sushil Tiwari, Vishal Agarwal, Vinod Maheshwari, Ravindra Gupta, Sonu Ghai, Gopal Gupta, Saurabh Sharma, Vishal Kohli, Deepak Sehgal, Tauheed Siddiqui Nazmi, along with hundreds of enthusiastic trader-players.
