La Martiniere College Shines at ‘Le Mot Juste’ Literary Festival in Mussoorie

Lucknow: La Martiniere College, Lucknow, made an impressive mark at the prestigious ‘Le Mot Juste’ Literary Festival, hosted by Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie. The national-level festival, held on April 26, 2025, saw intense competition across various literary and linguistic events, with the delegation from La Martiniere delivering standout performances in multiple categories.

In the H.G. Meakin Senior Division Hindi Debates, the dynamic duo of Manasvi Prakash Srivastava and Yash Vardhan Singh emerged as the Second Runners-Up, showcasing articulate argumentation and thoughtful presentation. Notably, Manasvi Prakash Srivastava was honoured with the Best Rebuttal Speaker award in the final round, a testament to her sharp wit and debating skills.

The G.D. Lehmann Junior Division English Debates witnessed another stellar performance from La Martiniere. The team, comprising Japjot Singh and Kushaggra Mishra, secured the First Runners-Up position. In a remarkable personal achievement, Japjot Singh clinched three individual accolades — Most Promising Speaker, Best Rebuttals in the Finals, and an additional prize recognizing his all-round excellence.

In the S.N. Sharma Hindi Storytelling and Recitation Competition, Alex Bishnoi of Class 8 impressed the judges with his expressive delivery and storytelling flair, earning the First Position. His performance played a vital role in La Martiniere College being declared the Overall Winners in this category.

The College also made its presence felt in the T.W. Phillips Senior Division English Debates, with Jishnu Gupta, Omer Rizvi, and Kabir Bhandari putting up a commendable performance, further enhancing the school’s reputation for eloquence and literary prowess.

In the Rev. Biggs Inter School Spell Bee Competition, Pranav Jethwani of Class 12 and Arnav Kumar of Class 8 showcased exceptional spelling abilities and linguistic command, reflecting the school’s strong focus on language skills.

In the uniquely themed ‘Lights, Camera, Critique’ Movie Review Competition, Devasya Bansal of Class 12 stood out for his analytical depth and critical appreciation of cinema, winning praise for his perceptive commentary.
