AYODHYA – In a move to accelerate the grand Ram Temple’s construction in Ayodhya, the tenure of both Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Tata Consultancy has been extended until March 2026. The two companies were originally contracted to complete their work by September 2025. This extension was granted in response to the slow pace of the temple’s construction.
According to Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, the proposed date for hoisting the flag atop the temple’s pinnacle is November 25. This date is expected to be formally approved at a meeting of the construction committee and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
So far, approximately Rs 1,400 crore has been spent on the temple’s construction, of which Rs 1,100 crore has already been disbursed.

In addition to the main temple, a museum with 20 galleries will be built within the complex at a cost of around Rs 200 crore. The galleries are planned to showcase the journey from the Ramayana era to the Ram Mandir movement. Furthermore, advanced security equipment has been procured and the process of its installation will begin soon to ensure a safe environment for pilgrims.
