Kuldeep Yadav Achieves Career-Best 14th in ICC Test Bowling Rankings

Mumbai: Left-arm leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav played a pivotal role in India’s series-clinching victory over West Indies in the two-Test series, claiming 12 wickets and achieving a career-best 14th position in the ICC Test bowling rankings.

India’s opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal also shone with a brilliant 175-run innings in the first innings of the second Test, climbing two places to reach fifth in the ICC Test batting rankings. His opening partner KL Rahul, who scored a century in the first Test in Ahmedabad and followed with 38 and an unbeaten 58 in the second Test at Delhi, rose two places to 22nd in the rankings.

For West Indies, opener Shai Hope, who scored a century in the second innings of the Delhi Test, jumped 34 places to 66th, while fellow opener John Campbell rose six spots to 68th in the ICC batting rankings.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan returned to the top of the ICC ODI bowling rankings after leading his team to a 3-0 series victory over Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi, taking a total of 11 wickets in the series. His teammate Ajmatullah Omarzai picked up seven wickets, climbing 19 places to a career-best 21st in the ODI bowling rankings. Bangladesh’s Mehdi Hasan Miraz moved up four spots to 24th, while Tanzim Hasan Shakib jumped 24 places to 67th.

In the ODI batting rankings, Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran scored 213 runs in the series, rising eight places to achieve a career-best second rank.

Kuldeep Yadav’s rise in the ICC Test rankings reflects his growing stature as one of India’s premier spinners, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul continue to strengthen India’s top-order dominance.
