Lucknow | In a bid to enhance road safety and promote responsible driving, the Sarojininagar Police and Krishna Nagar Police jointly conducted a traffic awareness campaign at the Shaheed Path trisection. The initiative was carried out under the directives of the Lucknow Deputy Commissioner of Traffic as part of the Sukham Suraksha Traffic Awareness Campaign.
The drive took a unique and impactful approach as Anshu Dixit, dressed as Yamraj, cautioned two-wheeler riders about the importance of wearing helmets and urged four-wheeler drivers to fasten their seat belts. His presence drew considerable public attention, helping spread the message effectively.
During the campaign, “Yamraj” explained traffic rules to passersby, reminding them that adherence to safety norms is essential to avoid accidents—and symbolically, a visit to his “door.” Along with the traffic police team, he distributed pamphlets encouraging citizens to read and follow traffic regulations to prevent mishaps. Citizens were also advised to contact the helpline number immediately in case of an accident.
Speaking at the spot, Anshu Dixit noted that many motorists still ride without helmets or seat belts, a major factor behind frequent fatalities on highways. “Many deaths occur simply because people ignore basic safety measures. After that, going to Yamraj is inevitable,” he remarked, emphasising the life-saving importance of road discipline.

He urged all vehicle owners to wear helmets and seat belts at all times, stressing that only then can they ensure their own safety and enjoy a secure journey.
The joint team included Sumit Mishra, Rahul Verma (Assistant TI), Ajay Kumar Awasthi (Shaheed Path TSI), Ankit Thakra, Transport Nagar Outpost In-charge, and several other traffic police personnel. The campaign received appreciation from commuters, who praised the creative effort by the police and “Yamraj” to raise awareness about road safety.
